Programs & Services

The Somali Development Center pursues its goals through

the following core programs and services:

 

· Basic Adult Literacy Program:

             Offering free on-site ESOL and citizenship classes to all SDC clients.

· Youth Programs

· Newcomer Orientation & Acculturation Program

· Housing: 

             Search assistance, advocacy, interpretation and translation

· Employment and Services:

             Job readiness and job Search assistance

· Legal Assistance: 

                 Immigration, welfare, housing, employment, domestic violence, and advocacy in the courts

· Health:   

             Emotional problems, women’s health issues, health education, health care access, domestic            

                 violence prevention, environmental education

· Resources and Information:  Cable television program, community lectures,

                 research, information and referral
